Snuffed Out

It’s almost as though they’re doing it deliberately. Oracle and the Golden Gate Yacht Club, that is… I barely manage to get a blog up before they move another chess piece and change the dynamics of the game again. This is the third week on the trot that it’s happened, or maybe they just have their lawyers working on this stuff the same day that I post. read on

Great breeze & surfing conditions – it doesn’t get much better” is how current overall leader Jeremy Davy described the days sailing.  Competitors enjoyed stronger wind conditions with a fresh westerly breeze and sunny conditions.   The fleet launched with the support of the slipway team while North Ayrshire Economic Development Manager, Alex Anderson, watched on and was very impressed to see all the action and hoped the sailors would enjoy their sailing at Largs. The Flying Fifteen National Championship got underway today, 26th July, at Largs. With 37 boats entered and near perfect conditions the fleet launched and headed for the race area off the North end of Great Cumbrae. The course was set with about 11 knots of breeze from the SSW. Both the open and classic fleets got off to a clean start with no penalties at the scheduled start time, 1400hrs. The sportscotland National Centre Cumbrae had their new work boat put to the test laying the full course with good angles and distances. Chris Nichol, Chief Instructor, said “I am very pleased with the new boat and it is the ideal equipment to support the mark laying for large championship events.” results here

Happy as Larry! as Coutts signs up for pension fund in advance

HOW MUCH ARE YOU GETTING PAID RUSSELL?

“Happy as Larry” is used to getting what he wants, well until he got involved in the Americas Cup yacht racing programme. With some practice now completed it looks like he may just be one step closer to getting what he wants by signing up Russell Couttes. But and there always is a but, and thats if he is going to be the best man for the job come the time, after all thats what Dicko was back then. But magic for Russell getting all that cash for sailing, and you got to think did his parents ever say to him “Get a proper job, you will never make any money from sailing” So the real question is just how much is ge getting paid? I think it must be $25 milllion dollars what do you think? any comments?
