Wind was over 25knots and it was hard to keep the boat slow enough and
the sea state was not that good so he only lasted 4-5mins”

I just love the bit where he says it waqs hard turning down the speed on the V70 to make it slow enough for Boarding LOL Fuckin magic eh? Ive Seen this done at West Highland Week with much less effect.

Ichi (Baws) Ban lost its Port rudder earlier this morning and has had to reduce speed down to about 16kts (Tough Life Central) as she hopes to hang on to Second place. Skadia is now on Half mast and is limping home to finish the race under dury rig. Oh just checked and they have now finished the race, Well Done. Checkout the latest updates here.

The Sydney maxi Wild Oats XI, skippered by Mark Richards, has made yachting history this morning, crossing the finish line of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race at 10:24am to secure her third consecutive line honours victory. Richards has been at the helm each time.

 The three maxis leading the Rolex Sydney Hobart fleet entered Bass Strait around 4am this morning with Bob Oatley’s Wild Oats XI still in the lead.

At 0500hrs the Sydney maxi, which is aiming for a hat trick of line honours wins, held a 9 mile break on Mike Slade’s British maxi City Index Leopard, with Skandia another 6 miles astern. Nevertheless, with the wind now on the nose, Slade is hopeful he may yet wind the local race favourite in.
