Team Stratton Wins The Real Overall Scottish IRC Championship

The Scottish IRC Championships Sponsored by Old Pulteney was won in style by Team Stratton headed by pensioner and long term veteran champaigner of  Clyde Sailing Nick Stratton along with his son Miles and some good looking crew which has been  recently put together to campaign their Brand spanking new Archambault A31 called A Neet Djinn. Winning both the Overall trophy and indeed Class 3 was in its self no mean feat with tight racing bands making every second count in all races along with a strong set of straight bullets in Class two from Salamander xx but it was judged that Class 3 was the tougher class and the Statton ship won the overall Trophy.

The A31 billed as a brilliant light wind boat turned heads on Saturday’s two races when it blew its tits off with winds in the constant 30+ kts destroyed the fleet in a style reserved for Fine Clyde Sailor gentlemen of a certain age still out on a mission, it may have been a new boat, but it was an old hand lying down many years of sailing experience to the wanabee’s and while the chat in the boozer was of the great speed both up and down wind from the A31 in the big breeze, it came as a double shock on Sunday when the light shifty winds prevailed and the A31 blew everyone away posting 4 bullets and discarding a second they only lost by two seconds on corrected time.

I’ve tried to find out more about this uncompromising IRC race boat and as Team Stratton are the main agents for the little big yacht I thought I would visit their web site www.nickstrattonyachts.com to find out more about winning the Scottish IRC’ Championships, but such is the modesty of Mr Nick Stratton on his latest major win you will not find it ther,e as he would probably think it vulgar to push it on the site, or just maybe he don’t want you to buy one right now until he’s won everything first, so if you want an A31 you better get your order in now. He must think ‘we came up the Clyde in a banana boat’. Give them a call.
